Streetbees builds on Series A funding round with senior hires

  • Paul Ahern joins as CGO from Parthenon-EY
  • Gideon Summerfield, formerly Global Head of Product at Hive, joins as VP Product


Streetbees, the global intelligence platform, has made several hires to its senior leadership team, significantly expanding the company’s expertise.

Paul Ahern joins Streetbees as Chief Growth Officer. Paul will be responsible for ensuring the continued rapid growth of the company as it scales internationally, for building on Streetbees’ client list of major international corporations, and for expanding the sales team.

Paul was previously Managing Director and London office head for Parthenon EY, where he was responsible for leading all London-based private equity work. Prior to Parthenon, Paul successfully turned around a retail pharmacy in Ireland, and he has a long-standing interest in investing in start-ups.

Paul was also the first-ever investor into Streetbees, which recently announced a $12m Series A investment, led by Atomico. That new investment is helping Streetbees to further develop its core machine learning technology, which transforms the real-time data provided by its global community of users into actionable insights for brands.

In addition, Gideon Summerfield joins Streetbees as VP Product, and Dan Medlock is the company’s new Finance Director. Gideon was formerly Global Head of Product at Hive, where he led the launch of its award-winning Smart Thermostat in the US and Europe and the Hive View camera. He previously lead the product team at Sky TV that built the Sky Q set-top box, and also formerly drove the roll-out of the BBC iPlayer onto millions of set-top boxes, TVs and games consoles.

Dan joins from BT, where he led the Finance team for the UK cybersecurity division of BT Group, and led Commercial Finance during the rapid expansion of the international cybersecurity unit. Before BT, he co-founded a startup and consulted on M&A with KPMG, focusing on technology and digital media in the UK.

The hires come as Streetbees is growing internationally and expanding its team. Senior roles currently on offer at the company include Chief Technology Officer, Head of Data Science and Head of Product Marketing.
